I JUST APPLIED, WHAT IS THE NEXT STEP?
We first want to champion your decision for spending a summer being intentional in growing your faith! We are excited to be spending the summer with you on our beloved island! The next step in the application process is that your respective campus director will review your application! After approval, you will be able to start fundraising for Project Galveston or making a deposit towards your overall cost. In addition, you will receive an approval email with more information!
HOW CAN I RAISE MONEY FOR PROJECT GALVESTON?
We understand that there could be some daunting thoughts about the cost of project, but we are here to help! Each campus staff has been trained to train you to raise money! Connect with your campus staff to begin breaking down how you can create excitement regarding your decision for your summer and how people in your life can be a part of it!
WILL THERE BE CAMPUS OUTREACH STAFF PRESENT DURING PROJECT GALVESTON?
Each summer, Campus Outreach Houston staff also pack up their bags and head to the island for the summer! In addition to COH staff, team leaders (summer staff) will be present the entire summer.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
The most exciting part of the summer is that you will meet other college students who have made the decision to go to Project from all over Texas! Students from Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin, Houston Christian, University of St. Thomas, and college students from Citizens Church in Dallas will be there! Your discipleship groups in fact will be a mix of all the students coming. You will live, work, and play with other students from other campuses.
CAN I TAKE SUMMER CLASSES?
While we encourage you to take a break from school, we understand that there might be a need to take a class during project! You will have free time that can be dedicated to your summer class.
WHY SIX WEEKS?
Six weeks of your summer may seem like a long time, but in fact it might be 1/3 of your summer break. We believe that as a college student you are typically given four summers to invest in your career, friendships, but most importantly, your faith. We have seen how God has used six weeks to develop students to leaders, train students, develop in time management skills, and help break sinful patterns for God’s glory.
CAN I GO TO VACATION DURING PROJECT GALVESTON?
At Project, our goal is to develop young leaders. The schedule is designed to ensure the you develop in your spiritual life. Thus, the schedule is very full with work, small group interaction, listening to speakers, reading, giving presentations, etc. We recommend you to schedule your vacation prior or after project so you experience Project at its fullest.
WHERE DO I LIVE DURING PROJECT GALVESTON?
